Karsten Konrad was born 1962 in Würzburg and studied at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin and the Royal College of Art in London. Sculpture is for the artist an unerring instrument of analysis, examination and inspection of our reality. With archaeological curiosity he digs out the buried hopes and modernist utopias inscribed in discarded commodities, furniture, machines, and architectures.
